Coleman Greig in the Community

St Gabriel’s is a K-12 co-educational school catering for students with an intellectual disability in the mild to moderate range, sensory impairment and autism. The school is a registered charity and by 2024, will progress to a fully K-12 offering. St Gabriel's provide caring and dynamic education programs so that their students can communicate and fully engage in life.

As the principal fundraiser for Westmead Hospital, Westmead Hospital Foundation relies on the generosity of individuals, corporate partners, trusts and foundations, as well as the general community to allocate funds towards vital pieces of medical equipment – big and small, grants and scholarships, innovative research and health services.

Launched in 2013, the annual Coleman Greig Challenge aims to raise funds for a range of charities by tapping into the growing awareness amongst executives of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, as well as the rising popularity of cycling and running. To date, the Challenge has raised an over $1 million for children with special needs and newborn care.

We have partnered with the Museum of Contemporary Art to provide ongoing pro-bono legal services. Our values of People, Purpose, Vision and Community strongly reflect the MCA’s work, and have a particular synergy with the MCA’s C3West program. We hope to assist the MCA to bring art, inspiration and community change to Greater Western Sydney.

We have partnered with The Westmead Institute for Medical Research (WIMR) to provide ongoing pro-bono legal services with respect to their Gifts in Wills program and assisting those wishing to make bequests to the Institute. WIMR is passionate about delivering discoveries that will result in better diagnosis, early prevention and treatments for serious health issues affecting Australians.

Coleman Greig has partnered with the New South Wales Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (NSWICC) to maximise economic and social outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities through economic participation.

CG Workshops and Training - Coleman Greig provides a comprehensive range of educational and professional development services for clients and the local business community. Women in Business Forum - Coleman Greig Lawyers established the Women in Business Forum in 2007 to help professional women and senior female executives connect with each other over issues of importance to them. We have now grown to become the largest networking forum for women in business outside of the Sydney CBD, proudly supporting Western and North Western Sydney.

Sustainability Advantage - Our commitment to social responsibility extends into our environmental responsibilities, including managing our environmental footprint and undertaking sustainable work practices. Coleman Greig participates in the Sustainability Advantage Program, which encourages participants to become a ‘green’ role model within the business community.

Australian Legal Sector Alliance - Coleman Greig is a member of the Australian Legal Sector Alliance, an industry-led association working to promote sustainable practices across the legal sector. AusLSA provides tools and resources to assist us in implementing successful programmes and policies to reduce our environmental impact.

Supporting Students - Coleman Greig offers a variety of work experience opportunities, as well as a Legal Studies Cadetship Program to students who are part of Western Sydney University’s School of law each year, providing financial assistance for educational resources and the chance to work at Coleman Greig whilst undertaking their studies.

Supporting Staff - Staff enjoy a range of benefits such as the ability to take ‘Volunteer Leave’, which enables them to take one day of paid leave each year to volunteer for a cause of their choosing. Similarly, staff are able to volunteer their time through charitable ventures such as our Women in Business Forums and the Coleman Greig Challenge.

White Ribbon - Coleman Greig is a zero tolerance workplace with regard to violence against women and we are proud to be the first legal firm in Australia to achieve White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation.  The White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation program involves meeting 15 criteria under three different standards in order to create a safer and more respectful workplace for staff, and a safe space for clients and visitors alike.

Our actions are guided by our Plan’s four pillars of ‘Respect’, ‘Building Relationships’, ‘Creating Opportunities’, and ‘Giving Back’. As part of the Plan, we have partnered with the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce to maximise economic and social outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities through economic participation, and to more firmly embed Aboriginal participation into our workplace.

Coleman Greig is an organisational sponsor of the Western Sydney Young Professionals Network, designed as an opportunity for young professionals to achieve sustained career growth and development through establishing networks, building relationships and sharing knowledge.
